Throughout my years as an artist, I have dabbled in many different media. I have always been predominantly a painter working with acrylics but in recent years started to play with oils. I have blown glass, worked clay and just recently started to sew. I also have a love of refinishing furniture. I incorporate the many facets of my interests into my art work. I am both a scientist and an artist, two concepts that are sometimes conflicting but manage to work it out in my own personal life (usually, at least). Obvious in my work is my strong interest in Botany. While much of my work is directed at precision and realism, I often "let loose" with more abstract pieces.
The main objective of this website is to create a cyber venue for my portfolio. As I create new pieces I will try to post them. You can tune in to watch the progression of a painting on which I am currently working. I will warn you though. I often stall on a piece and think it over for months before taking a new step. It is not unusual for me to have a number of projects coexisting. I think that it allows the works to evolve naturally on their own without me rushing them to completion.
